Swamy alleges procedural irregularities

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Friday alleged that the State government had committed procedural irregularities in processing Nalini’s application for premature release in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

Addressing newspersons here, Dr. Swamy said it was a “mystery” as to how the government, which made no mistakes in procedural requirements for freeing 1,405 convicts on Annadurai’s birth centenary, committed procedural irregularities in Nalini’s case.

Dr. Swamy welcomed the Nanavathi Commission report on the Godhra incident and wanted the Gujarat government to launch criminal proceedings based on the findings.

Demands stern action

Demanding stern action against terrorists, Dr. Swamy alleged that law and order situation in the country was at its worst and the situation in Tamil Nadu was still worse.
