Md. Raufuddin is a constable attached to Railway Protection Force training centre at Moula Ali Tells that he wanted to exhort people to unite in the fight against terrorism in the name of jihad HYDERABAD: A constable of Railway Protection Force (RPF) created flutter near the Mecca Masjid in old city when he suddenly started raising slogans against terrorism soon after offering Jummat-ul-vida prayers on Friday - the last in Ramzan month. Despite making massive security arrangements for the prayers, the police were caught off guard by the namazi’s unexpected sloganeering and slapped a public nuisance case against him. The constable, Md. Raufuddin, 38, stood close to Charminar traffic police station building. As soon as the prayers were over, he took out a banner displaying slogans against terrorism. He apparently concealed it in his clothes. Similar captions were also written on his shirt. “Initially, we thought something went wrong as he began shouting frantically. But soon realised that he just wanted to attract attention of others,” the Charminar police said. Policemen whisked him away into the traffic police station building and questioned him. Inquiries revealed that Raufuddin was working with the RPF’s training centre at Moula Ali. He told police that he wanted to exhort people to unite in the fight against terror strikes in the name of jihad. The banner contained slogans against suicide attacks by terrorists and demanding the USA to withdraw forces from Iraq and Afghanistan. Summoned by police officials, his family members maintained that the constable was facing problems in personal life. A case under section 70-B of City Police Act was registered against him. In a separate incident, another namazee, Asghar Ali, 27, sustained injuries when he jumped out of Mecca Masid after the prayers. He was later shifted to a hospital. Ali told police that he jumped over the wall since he wanted to leave the place immediately after the prayers. Police said nothing suspicious was found about the person.
