A clarification

M. K. Sharma, Deputy Director, Press & Public Relations Wing, Lok Sabha Secretariat, writes:

Attention has been drawn to the report appearing in The Hindu dated September 21 titled “A separate TV channel for Rajya Sabha”, wherein Lok Sabha Secretary-General Shri P.D.T. Achary is quoted as having said at the Conference of Secretaries of Legislative Bodies in India that “the Rajya Sabha will have a separate TV channel on the pattern of the Lok Sabha TV channel to enable the people to view proceedings of both the Houses”. The report further quotes him as saying that these channels would be managed by “a common management and have one CEO”.

It is pointed out that the statement has been inadvertently attributed to Shri Achary. It is clarified that he did not say that there would be a common management and one CEO for the proposed channel along with the Lok Sabha TV channel.
