TDP to file cases against YSR

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Alleging large scale corruption and irregularities, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has hinted at filing petitions against Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and his son in courts.

At a press conference here on Friday, the TDP leaders, K. Yerran Naidu, E. Dayakar Rao and N. Rajakumari, said the party was marshalling evidence to prove the charges and justified the legal course of action saying the Chief Minister remained unresponsive.

“We have exhausted the options of highlighting in the media and the Assembly.”

On the Congress demand that TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu first get the stays on corruption charges vacated before launching his campaign against corruption on October 2, Mr. Yerran Naidu expressed surprise. He said it was strange that the Congress was blaming the TDP leader instead of approaching the court.

Asked to comment on fans of film star Balakrishna raising slogans favouring him as next Chief Minister, Mr. Yerran Naidu evaded a reply.
