Rourkela: ‘Gramashree mela’, showcasing workmanship skills of rural India, was inaugurated here by Orissa Finance Minister, Prafulla Ghadei. About 400 participants from 14 states from Jammu and Kashmir to Tamil Nadu are participating in the ten-day mela to promote traditional village products which Ghadei inaugurated last night. Organised by the Orissa Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) in association with the Sundargarh district administration which had turnover of Rs.86 lakh last year aims to cross Rs. 1 crore this time. Inaugurating the mela, Ghadei said the demands for village and cottage industries products are on gradual rise and people buy the traditional products not only their show room but for their use. Cultural programmes will be performed by 20 troupes . - PTI
