More facilities at hospital

KOZHIKODE: Health Minister P.K. Sreemathy will inaugurate the renovated casualty wing of the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital (KMCH) on September 28.

Talking to reporters here on Friday, KMCH superintendent V.R. Rajendran and Kozhikode Medical College Principal C. Sudheendra Ghosh said the renovated casualty wing got an examination hall, separate observation rooms for male and female patients, nurses’ station, special room for patients admitted in critical conditions, emergency operation theatre, and X-ray and ECG rooms. Facilities for dressing and washing, information counter, special facilities for medicine, surgery, ortho, dental and ENT departments had also been set up.

They said a facility to observe every patient from the nurses’ station was put in place. A way for reaching the wards from the casualty wing was also provided. Since the total area of the casualty wing had been increased, large number of patients could be accommodated.

The government had granted Rs.49 lakh for the renovation.
