Banks in district disburse Rs.1,132 crore as loan

KOZHIKODE: A sum of Rs.1,132 crore was disbursed as loan by banks in the district during the first three months of the 2008-09 fiscal.

The details of credit disbursal by the banks were announced at the three-monthly district-level banking review meeting held here on Friday. A.K. Saseendran, MLA, inaugurated the meeting. N. Prashanth, assistant collector, presided. P.T.A. Rahim, MLA, delivered the keynote address.

An amount Rs.581 crore was disbursed for development of the priority sector and Rs.551 crore in the non-priority sector.
