KOCHI: Andhra Pradesh retained the men’s and women’s team titles in the 33rd National senior tennikoit championship at the Regional Sports Centre here on Friday night.
The results: Men: final: Andhra Pradesh bt Karnataka 3-1 (Laxman Rao lost to R.N. Balaji 11-21, 19-21; N. Rakesh bt Abhilash 21-14, 21-1; Rakesh / Laxman Rao bt T. Sornavel / Balaji 21-16, 21-10; Laxman Rao bt Abhilash 21-15, 19-21, 21-1). Third place: Puducherry bt Maharashtra 3-0. Semifinals: AP bt Maharashtra 3-0; Karnataka bt Puducherry 3-0.
