KHAMMAM: Innovative methods adopted and materials used for creating beautiful articles with a mix of clay and ceramic powder was demonstrated at a workshop on clay mouldings organised by the Tourism Department at the TTDC buildings here today. Children and their teachers from different schools took part in the workshop. District Collector Shashibhushan Kumar inaugurated the workshop. He interacted with some of the children who made beautiful things out of the clay which turned out to be an attraction. District tourism officer Suman Chakravarty said that clay moulding had turned out to be a craft with a great deal of importance in the age of eco-tourism. Gift articles made of clay moulding were enjoying a good market. Vamsikrishna, faculty member from the JNTU, who took part in the workshop explained the various patterns involved in the craft to the participants. A photo exhibition was also organised by the department on the occasion. Pictures of different tourism spots were put on display.
