Allahabad: Grandson of a senior Congress leader was allegedly kidnapped from outside his house here and a police team sent to Bihar where the boy is believed to have been taken by the abductors. Following a complaint filed by Shashwat Tripathi’s (15) parents, police arrested one Gunjan of Bihar, who lived in their neighbourhood, in connection with the case. Police claimed that Gunjan’s interrogation has revealed that Shashwat has been taken to Bihar following which a team headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police has been sent to the neighbouring state. Shashwat, whose grandfather Rajendra Tripathi was a Minister while the Congress was in power in Uttar Pradesh, was residing with his family in Allapur locality of the city. - PTI
