PANAJI: The Goa Government on Thursday decided in principle to implement the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission from November 2008. Talking to presspersons after a Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat said that the Government would pay the arrears of September and October 2008 subsequently. As regards the arrears for 2006 and 2007, he said that the decision on that would be taken in due course. On the issue of the Mahadayi river water dispute between Goa and Karnataka, Mr. Kamat said that the Government had decided to form a sub-committee of the State Cabinet under the Minister for Water Resources Philipe Neri Rodrigues to monitor the Mahadayi case which is sub-judice.
