Three held for attacking bar employee

CHENNAI: Three persons were arrested for attacking an employee of a bar attached to an Indian Made Foreign Liquor outlet run by the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation at Avadi here on Wednesday.

Police said A. Nasar (35), M. Saravanan (21) and S. Sheikh Mohideen (22) of M.M. Road walked out of the bar without paying the bill. When one of the bar employees, V. Muthuramalingam (42), intercepted them and demanded the payment, the trio hit him with an iron rod.

The victim suffered a head injury and was admitted to the Kilapuk Medical College and Hospital.

His condition was said to be stable.

A case of attempt to murder was booked against the accused who were produced in a city court and remanded to judicial custody.
