KOZHIKODE: The ‘Hindi Sevi Samman’ prizes for 2008 were distributed at a programme organised by the Bhasha Samanwaya Vedi as part of popularising the Hindi language, here on Tuesday. Baijnath Prasad, professor at the Department of Hindi, Punjab University who inaugurated the programme called on the public to be part of the concept of ‘Ek Bharat’. He said the message of a united India that was popularised by Mahatma Gandhi cannot be forgotten, and the forces of disunity based on language and other aspects must be defeated. Arsu, professor, Hindi Department, Calicut University presided.
