SAIL inks MoU with IIM Ahmedabad

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Management Training Institute (MTI) of Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) on Wednesday inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, to meet the challenges of human resource development in the wake of its ongoing modernisation and expansion programme. The MoU, according to a SAIL statement, was signed here by the steel major’s Executive Director (HRD) S. P. Patnaik and IIM Director S. K. Barua.

Under the MoU, the scope of collaborative efforts being addressed include mutual faculty support for the programmes of the two entities, joint research and development of case studies, special programmes for SAIL executives at IIM Ahmedabad and access to literature and library resources.

The MoU marked a significant step towards consolidation of an industry-academic interface that would enhance SAIL’s access to knowledge about the latest global management practices.
