Godavari project for Hyderabad cleared

HYDERABAD: The Cabinet on Wednesday approved two major urban projects -- Pranahita-Chevella as a solution to the drinking water problem of Hyderabad, with the Godavari as the source, and a bus rapid transit system for Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.

It resolved to amend the AP Educational Act to stop government recognition and aid to those private-aided educational institutions not implementing the reservations in employment, resulting in piling of cases in the Supreme Court and High Court.

In another major decision, the Cabinet provided relief to government employees facing Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) cases.
