India is second seed

NEW DELHI: India has been seeded No. 2 behind Russia in the World Group finals of the junior Davis Cup under-16 tennis tournament being played at San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

India is represented by Yuki Bhambri, Saurabh Singh and S.V. Abhishek who had helped the team win the title in the regional competition in the Asia-Oceania Zone earlier in the season.

India has been clubbed with host Mexico, Brazil and Great Britain in Group ‘D.’

The groupings:

Group ‘A’: Russia, Tunisia, Peru, Australia. Group ‘B’: Hungary, Japan, Latvia, Argentina. Group ‘C’: USA, Chinese Taipei, Egypt, Sweden. Group ‘D’: India, Brazil, Mexico, Great Britain.

The seedings: 1. Russia, 2. India, 3. USA, 4. Hungary, 5. Argentina, 6. Sweden, 7. Australia, 8. Great Britain.
