“Take part in programmes for weaker sections”

Rotaract members told

TIRUCHI: The student members of the Rotaract Clubs should take active participation in the programmes aimed at uplifting the weaker sections of the society, the former Rotary district governor, M. Elangovan said.

Delivering his inaugural address at the annual ‘Synerzise-08’ the zonal conference of Zone I of the Rotaract Clubs of the Rotary International District 3000 held at the Urumu Dhanalakshmi College recently, Mr. Elangovan said the Rotaract Club members could play a major role in the overall development of the local society by implementing worthy projects.

The Principal of the Urumu Dhanalakshmi College, K. Sekar who was the guest of honour at the inaugural commended the Rotaract members for their involvement in the awareness creation programmes.

The office-bearers of the participating Rotaract Clubs presented reports on their activities and projects implemented through power point presentation.

Alagusundaram, past district Rotaract Committee Chairmanc and M. Ponnilango, Director of Jenney’s Academy, participated at the valediction. The Coordinator of the Rotaract Club of Urumu Dhanalakshmi College, S. Ananthalakshmi and others spoke.

Over 500 members of the Rotaract Clubs in Zone I, II and III participated in the conference organised jointly by the Rotaract Clubs of Urumu Dhanalakshmi College, M. A. M. College of Engineering, Holy Cross College, Jenney’s Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management and Thanthai Hans Roever College.
