COIMBATORE: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will organise the fifth version of iTalent, an event which aims at showcasing the talents of students in developing information technology related projects for industry applications. “iTalent gives students an exposure to a competitive landscape, as well as an opportunity for the industry to have a look at the best students from colleges,” said Venkatesan Seshadri, senior vice-president, Birlasoft (India) Limited. Each institution could send a maximum of five teams. The teams could send concept notes on varied project ideas of technical and social relevance, he said. All teams that submit the concept paper would be invited to present their project to a panel of judges from the industry and academia. Out of these, 20 projects would be selected for the final round. Finalists would present their projects at an event where major IT players would be present. The first three prizes would be Rs.75,000, Rs.50,000 and Rs.25,000 including a citation and a trophy.
