Inaugurating ‘Brand Expo‘08,’ organised here by the Department of Management Science of Dr. G.R. Damodaran College of Science as part of its decennial celebrations, he urged the management schools to gear up to meet the changing trends. “Management education and science develop managerial talents and skills and inculcate the right type of attitude, combined with social values, in students. It should produce competent managerial personnel and develop new systems of management by continuous research …,” the Governor said. He said the youth were India’s greatest treasure and future. The 21st century was an era of knowledge. It was a period that encouraged individuals and had an excellent educational system which catered to the needs of students. “Branding is an important aspect in marketing management. Brands symbolise value. They are also reflections of the values of the organisation, their policies and their social responsibilities, their contributions and ethics, that show commitment to the customers.” Collector V. Palanikumar said the district accounted for one-third of the State’s human resource requirements.
