Four get ‘Best Entrepreneur Award’

CHENNAI: Velammal’s ‘Best Entrepreneur Award’, 2008 has been conferred on four entrepreneurs recently at a function organised at Velammal college of Management and Computer studies.

M V.M. Velmurugan, Chief Executive Officer, Velammal Educational Trust, conferred the award on the recipients.

One of the recipients of the award Vandana Gopikumar, one of the founders of The Banyan, a non-governmental organisation working towards rehabilitating women with mental illnesses and destitute women. She was awarded in recognition of her effort to make a difference in the lives of the destitute women by shaping them to be effective contributors to society.

Another recipient A. D. Padmasingh Issac, Founder and Chairman, Aachi Masala Foods, was given the award in recognition of his success in tapping the potential of the rural market effectively.

Senthil Natarajan, Managing Director of Kovai Pazhamudir Nilayam, was given award in recognition of the initiative to introduce a type of food, which possesses the health components such as fresh fruit juice and salads.

K.T. Srinivasa Raja, who was was one of the other recipients of the award, is the managing partner of Adyar Anandha Bhavan Sweets & Snacks.
