Man shot at

VILLUPURAM: Arumugham (45) of Gariyalur on the Kalvarayan Hills has lodged a complaint with the police alleging that a three-member gang involved in illicit arrack trade shot at him on Friday night.

Mr. Arumugham said that when he was coming out of the house, the gang members, who were lying in wait, fired at him from a country-made gun. He escaped unhurt.

The desperadoes escaped under the cover of darkness.

The gang suspected that Mr. Arumugham was a police informer.

The police are investigating. — Special Correspondent
