Co-optex Deepavali sale inaugurated

New designs in silk and cotton saris introduced

Krishnagiri: District Revenue Officer S. Nagarajan inaugurated the Deepavali and Ramzan special sale at the Co-optex showroom here on Friday.

New designs such as Vanna Mayil and Deepam in silk saris and Sirumugai, Mangani, Ranga, Parameswary, Angayarkkanni, Kodhai, Thanigai and Theepam in cotton have been introduced. K. Selvarani, a public, received the first sale from Mr. Nagarajan.

A 30 per cent discount would be offered for silk and cotton varieties. Enough stocks had been kept ready to meet the demand, said Manickam, Zonal Manager, Co-optex.

In Dharmapuri, the special sale was inaugurated by District Collector P. Amutha by lighting the kuthuvilakku.

Saris and dress materials worth Rs. 1.75 crore have been kept ready at the showroom to meet the demand.
