Transporters to go on strike from tomorrow

BANGALORE: A large number of building material transporters who met under the banner of the Federation of Karnataka State Lorry Owners and Agents Associations on Thursday decided to go off the road from September 20.

Federation president G.R. Shanmugappa has, in a release, said transporters of sand, crushed stone and size stone were being harassed by the Revenue, Mines and Geology, Police and Transport officials.

On the issue of speed governors, all truck operators across the State will stop operating their vehicles from October 1, while inter-State operators will also stop entering Karnataka from that date, Mr. Shanmugappa said.
