BWSSB engineers seek protection

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: After an irate mob attacked a few Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) engineers when they were getting public taps disconnected in Cubbonpet on Wednesday, the water board has sought police protection for its officials.

BWSSB Executive Engineer (Central Division) R. Devaraj has lodged a complaint with the Halasuru Gate police on Wednesday after an irate mob assaulted a few officials, including Mr. Devaraj, who were disconnecting the taps in Papanna Lane of Cubbonpet.

The protection is necessary as the BWSSB has decided to continue disconnection of all public taps in places where individual connections have been given, the complaint copy stated.
