Rahul slams century for Alappuzha
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: P. Rahul’s century (103) enabled Alappuzha post a respectable total against Thiruvananthapuram in the South Zone under-19 inter-district cricket tournament at the Agriculture College here on Thursday.
Aided by Rahul’s knock Alappuzha scored 269 for seven in 70 overs.
However, Thiruvananthapuram made a strong reply and was 64 for one at stumps.
At the Medical College ground, half-centuries by Arjun Kishore (57) and Rahul Dev (53) were instrumental in Kollam ending its first innings on a satisfactory note.
The scores:
Alappuzha 269 for seven in 70 overs (P. Rahul 103, Akhil B. Pillai 44) v Thiruvananthapuram 64 for one in 18 overs (Bibin Chatterjee 44).
Kollam 251 for eight in 30 overs (Arjun Kishore 57, Rahul Dev 53, Alex 40, Shiby Christopher four for 59) v Pathanamthitta 81 for three in 18 overs.
