Bangalore: The Kannada Film Directors’ Association (Kanfida) has selected 26 persons, including debutant director Chaitanya (Aa Dinagalu) and director Lakshman (Masanada Makkalu), debutant actors Vijay and Rashmi (Duniya) and Tejaswini (Masanada Makkalu) for the 2007 awards. President of the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce K.C.N. Chandrashekhar; director Girish Kasaravalli; artistes Vishnuvardhan, Dwarakish and Bharati Vishnuvardhan; music director Hamsalekha; cinematographer S. Ramachandra; writer Baragur Ramachandrappa; and producer Ashwini Ramprasad have won individual awards in recognition of their contribution to Kannada cinema. Special honourIt has also conferred special honours on the four films that won National awards — “Kallarali Hoovagi”, “Care of Footpath”, “Kada Beladingalu” and “Koti Chennayya” (Tulu) — and for their respective directors, T.S. Nagabharana, Master Kishan, B. Lingadevaru and Anand P. Raju. FilmsThe four State award-winning films, “Mungaru Male”, “Duniya”, “Cyanide” and “Badi” (Konkani) and their directors Yogaraj Bhat, Suri, A.M.R. Ramesh and Richard Castelino, have also been selected for the 2007 honours. The awards will be presented on October 5 in the city, according to a release by the Kanfida here on Thursday. The award winners for different categories are: Agni Sridhar (best dialogues—Aa Dinagalu); Sri (best screen play —Orata I love You); Malathi Mysore (best supporting actor — Moggina Jade); Richard Castelino (best director — Konkani film Badi). Renuka Sharma has won the best director award instituted by S.P. Rajkumar, while Shashikumar gets best editing award instituted by C.V.L. Shastry); T.P. Siddaraju (producer of highest revenue generated by a film — Duniya); S. Narayan (highest number of films made in the year); Lakshman (producer ); S. Ramachandra (best photography); N.R. Nanjunde Gowda (best children’s film); Priya Hassan (debutant producer); and Master Kishan (youngest director).
