AIADMK to boycott counting of votes

CHENNAI: The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will resort to legal means for conducting re-polling to two wards in the Chennai Corporation and one in the Madurai Corporation, casual elections to which were held on Thursday.

In a statement here, party general secretary Jayalalithaa said that the party would boycott the counting of votes. Claiming there was “anarchism, unfair activities and violence,” in Chennai and Madurai Corporations, Ms. Jayalalithaa alleged that there was booth capturing and casting of bogus votes. — Special Correspondent
