Mystery shrouds cousins’ death

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The death of T. Soumya Reddy and T. Vikram Reddy, whose bodies were found in a car at St. Louis County Park and adjacent Spanish Lake respectively in Chicago of U.S.A. three days ago, continued to be shrouded in mystery.

Families of the two cousins hailing from Hyderabad did not get any official information here so far about the motive and persons behind their death. As both the victims bore bullet wounds, it was believed that unidentified assailants shot them dead. While Soumya was pursuing her M.S. programme in engineering, Vikram was working with a company having completed his post-graduation there. According to information reaching here, the St. Louis County police started combing in and around the park for the gun that was used to kill the victims after finding the bodies one after the other within 24 hours. Autopsy of the bodies by the St. Louis County medical examiner was completed but they declined to reveal the findings. Investigators, American news agencies said, could find little clues from the evidence collected at the crime scene and the interviews with neighbours of the two victims. The local police are yet to ascertain if the two cousins met at the park or if the killers forcibly brought them there before shooting down. Family members of the two cousins here at Padmaraonagar were still in a state of shock. They said Vikram Reddy studied at Oxford School. He completed his intermediate and graduation from St. Mary’s college. He left for USA in December 2002. After completing his M.S. programme, he returned to city in 2004. He did not come to Hyderabad since then.
