Dream day for Vijilal

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Medium-pacer Vijilal took six wickets, including a hat-trick, as Kottayam scored an innings and 69-run win over Kollam in the South Zone under-19 inter-district cricket tournament here on Wednesday.

In another match, medium-pacers Susbash Kumar (10 wickets) and Shahim (eight wickets) scripted a 299 run-win for the host over Pathanamthitta.

Both Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam got five points each for their victories.

The scores:

Thiruvananthapuram 269 for four in 70 overs & 206 for five decl in 42.2 overs (Jijin Ramachandran 100 no, Sajan Salim 52) bt Pathanamthitta 93 in 34.4 overs & 84 in 24.4 overs (Shahim six for 24).

Kollam 135 in 47.5 overs & 101 in 34 overs (Sreeraj 42, Vijilal six for 32, Ajimon three for 13) lost to Kottayam 305 for nine in 70 overs (Govind 96, Vijilal 44, Sreeraj five for 73).
