Krishna Kiriti, Nikhat Banu get top billing

HYDERABAD: M. Krishna Kiriti and Nikhat Banu have been given pride of place in the men’s and women’s seedings for the Ranga Reddy District Table Tennis Association annual state ranking tournament to be held at the St. Paul’s Academy, St. Paul’s High School, Hyderguda from September 19 to 21, that has attracted 450 entries.

At a press conference addressed jointly by Chief Referee P. Laxmikanth and S. Sudershan Reddy, Chairman, Mahaveer Institute of Science and Technology, sponsor of the three-day meet, Organising Secretary P. Prakash Raju said competitions would be held for cadets (players born on or after January 1, 1997), sub-juniors (January 1, 1995), juniors (January 1, 1992), youth (born between January 1, 1998 and December 31, 1991), men and women.

The event will be conducted in conformity with the latest Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) rules, where Stag 3 star 40 mm balls will be used.

Dr. K.S. Jawahar Reddy, Commissioner, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority will be the chief guest for the inauguration function on Friday at 9.30 A.M., while P. Chenchuramaiah, President, Andhra Pradesh Table Tennis Association will preside.
