Badal for special package for farmers

PATIALA: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday said his government would demand a special package from the Centre for farmers in the State for record production of wheat this year.

He had written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in this regard, Badal told reporters here.

Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar had already promised a special package for the State farmers in the shape of bonus, he said.- PTI
