TDP to spell out stand on Telangana

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Ending its wait and watch policy, the Telugu Desam Party seems to have finally decided to make its stand clear on separate Telangana soon.

That the party was under pressure became clear from the way some leaders wanted the leadership to take the decision early, during a brainstorming session held at the party office on Tuesday. Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu was believed to have told them that “a positive decision will be taken soon.”

As a follow-up, the party’s core committee on Telangana decided to hold marathon meetings from September 27 to 29 daily from 10 a.m. At a press briefing, senior party leaders -- Kadiam Srihari and Ravula Chandrasekhara Reddy -- too gave ample indications of speeding up the process. On other aspects, they said the party would go to people with issues like all- pervading corruption, problems faced by farmers, including waiver of crop loans, shortage of fertilizer, etc.
