NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police on Tuesday released sketches of three persons, who are suspected to have planted bombs near the Gaffar Market in Karol Bagh and on Barakhamba Road here on Saturday. The sketches were prepared on the basis of descriptions provided by half a dozen eyewitnesses. While one is that of a youth, who is believed to have planted a bomb near the Gaffar Market, the other four are variations of two other suspects, who placed a bomb in the dustbin on Barakhamba Road near the Delhi Metro station. Briefing journalists, Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat urged people to assist the force in tracking down the suspects. “Names of the informers will be kept secret,” he said. Several persons had helped the police in preparing the sketches. Moolchand, driver of the auto-rickshaw that was blown apart in the Gaffar Market blast, provided a description of the terror suspect. He is assisting in the investigations. No breakthroughInvestigations into the blasts had not yielded any breakthrough. The police are analysing the calls made from public telephone booths in areas targeted on Saturday evening. They are also scanning mobile phone calls. CustodyThe Ahmedabad police have secured 14-day custody for Abul Bashar Qasmi, alleged top functionary of Indian Mujahideen, in a bomb blast case there. Besides the Ahmedabad explosions, the police would interrogate him to see if he had any information about those involved in the Delhi blasts. “He may be brought here by the Ahmedabad police for questioning, as the evidence gathered so far indicated the involvement of the group he was part of,” said a police officer.
