Four buses damaged in stone-throwing

TIRUNELVELI: Windscreens of four government buses were damaged in stone-throwing at Nanguneri on Monday night and early on Tuesday, following the vandalising of a Muthuramalinga Thevar statue.

Three persons have been arrested. The police said the windscreens of two buses going from Nagercoil to Tirunelveli were damaged in stone throwing by Sudalaikannu (19), Arumugam (19) and Vaanamaamalai (27).

Three persons of the same family, who were injured in the incident, received medical assistance from a hospital at Nanguneri.

Nanguneri MLA H. Vasanthakumar, in a statement demanded immediate arrest of those who vandalised the statue.
