Postage stamps to be released

CHENNAI: The Department of Posts will on Wednesday launch commemorative postage stamps on Sir Pitti Theagarayar, former chairman of erstwhile Madras Municipality and an epitome of selflessness and integrity in public life, C. Natesan, regarded as the father of the Dravidian movement, and T. M. Nair, social reformer, politician and physician.

Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi will receive the first set of stamps from Union Communications and IT Minister A. Raja at a function scheduled at the Sir Pitti Theagarayar Hall in T. Nagar at 5 p.m.

The commemorative stamps will be in the denomination of Rs. 5. — Special Correspondent
