Detained under Goondas Act

C. Periyakaruppan of Ariyur was detained under the Goondas Act for smuggling rice meant for public distribution system. He was lodged in the Central Prison here on Sunday.

In a statement, the Collector, S.S. Jawahar, issued a stern warning against smuggling of ration rice. — Staff Reporter
