South Indian Bank to add more branches

COIMBATORE: South Indian Bank plans to add 20 more branches in Tamil Nadu in three years.

Its chairman and Chief Executive Officer V.A. Joseph told presspersons here on Monday that the bank had 511 branches in the country, including 102 in Tamil Nadu. One branch was opened in R.S. Puram, Coimbatore, on Monday.

All the branches of the bank were covered under core banking services and the bank planned to have a branch in all the States by 2011. Currently, it was present in 23 States. It also planned to open seven to 10 more branches in Andhra Pradesh this year. By 2011, the bank would have 750 branches across the country.

It would open offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ras Al-Khaimah. M.P. Gopalakrishnan, chairman of CMS Educational Trust and Mr. Joseph also launched Group Salary Savings Account.
