Youth robbed

NAMAKKAL: A group of four unidentified persons assaulted a youth and robbed a sum of Rs. 6.60 lakh from him in Santhaipettai Puthur here on Tuesday.
Police said Ravikumar (29), an employee of an egg trading firm, was on the way to a bank branch, when the group assaulted him. They robbed the cash before fleeing the spot. Ravikumar sustained injuries and was admitted to a private hospital in Namakkal.
Found dead
A man was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his home in Veeragoundanur village near Ethapur on Tuesday. Neighbours of Arumugam (47) found him dead in his house and informed the police.
