Bomb scare in Mumbai Express

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Passengers travelling in Mumbai Express witnessed tense moments on Monday night when an unidentified person informed a young couple that a bomb was planted in the train and that it would explode at any time.

The couple were boarding the Hyderabad-Mumbai Express at Begumpet when a stranger intercepted them on the platform and informed that a bomb was planted inside the train and disappeared. Panic-stricken, they informed the Railways after the train reached Lingampally station. Then officials stopped the train and alerted Chandanagar police. The searches continued till last reports came in.

Meanwhile, a suitcase found abandoned on the roadside at Chilkalguda crossroads on Monday sent police into tizzy.
