Naidu threatens to hold public meet in Srikakulam Dharmana blames TD for not taking up the issue in 1995 HYDERABAD: The special session of the Assembly on Monday witnessed a showdown between leader of Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu and Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao over the latter’s land in Srikakulam town. Mr. Naidu threatened to hold a public meeting in Srikakulam to prove his point that the Minister got a disputed land registered in his name in collusion with some other claimants. The Minister and the others duped the government in the process after approaching court, he alleged. At this, Mr. Prasada Rao challenged Mr. Naidu to fix the meeting on any given date and said he would participate in it along with the Advocate-General. The controversy over the Minister owning municipal land in Srikakulam erupted when TDP deputy leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy charged the former with ensuring that the land issue did not come up for debate in the Assembly. Mr. Rao said that the then TDP government had not appealed against the ownership of the land in 1995. However, Mr. Naidu, denied having cleared the land.
