HYDERABAD: Secunderabad Clubhas once again being slapped with a notice by the Defence Ministry on Monday for taking up an illegal construction inside the premises. SCB is said to have issued the latest notice following information that the club management was going ahead with construction of a building despite being warned from doing so, official sources said. There is also a possibility of the Defence Estates authorities to file a police case against the club management for obstructing a public servant from doing his duty when he went to give the notice. The SCB and the Defence Estates wing have been at loggerheads with the club for the last couple of years over unauthorised constructions. While the land comes under jurisdiction of the Defence Estates Officer, building permissions, main bungalow and other civic issues fall under the SCB’s Chief Executive Officer domain. And any permanent construction taken up inside the club has to have the sanction of both departments of the Defence Ministry. However, the club had approached the courts questioning ownership of the land by the Ministry, official sources pointed out.
