Expedition will also focus on spreading the message of unity Around 4,400 kilometres over a 20-day period to be covered during the expedition HYDERABAD: A team of Army personnel from Pune will organise an awareness programme on various career options in the Indian Army, in the city on October 9. The ten-member team is part of an Army motorcycle expedition codenamed ‘Golden Katar Motorcycle Expedition’ that will traverse through various places in South India like Goa, Kerala, Kanyakumari, Chennai and Bangalore before reaching the city on October 8, a press release said. “The main aim of conducting this adventurous event is to generate awareness about Indian Army amongst youth for opting it as a professional career, especially as commissioned officers,” the release said. This will be done through career counselling workshops and presentations in schools and colleges at pre-identified locations en-route. Besides developing an adventure spirit, the expedition will also focus on spreading the message of unity and promoting Espirit-de-Corps within the organisation, added the release. The motorcycle expedition will be flagged off from Pune on September 22 and will have covered a distance of around 4,400 kilometres over a 20-day period at the end of the tour.
