It’s China time at Ohri’s

The Master Chinese Chef has pampered the taste buds of several celebrities

Only true Chinese cuisine lovers will be able to relish his dishes, says Hugh

HYDERABAD: To cater to the appetites of connoisseurs of oriental cuisine in the city, Ohri’s restaurant in Banjara Hills has launched a new menu at its Chinese restaurant ‘Far East’. The new menu has been designed by Stanley Hugh, a master Chinese Chef from New Delhi who has pampered the taste buds of several celebrities and diplomats in the nation’s capital.

With a wealth of recipes up his sleeve, Mr. Hugh aka Chin Fu Liang will now be working with the restaurant dishing out authentic Chinese cuisine to its customers. Describing his menu as “unique” he proclaims that some of his authentic dishes aren’t available at any other Chinese restaurant in the city.

With over 100 dishes newly added to the menu by Chef Hugh and his team of 15 chefs, sample some of his signature dishes: ‘prawns with golden sand’, ‘crispy water chesnuts and lotus stem in chilli plum’, ‘pumpkin dumplings’, ‘steamed fish fillet in banana leaf’ for starters and ‘Buddhist delight’, ‘braised duck with black mushroom’, ‘crysthnathan fish with hoisin sauce’, ‘chap choi’, ‘prawns with XO sauce’ to go with the main course.

“Some of the ingredients and sauces like oyster sauce, black and white fungus, sesame oil and XO sauce are sourced from China just for that distinct flavour,” he claims.

He however warns that only true Chinese cuisine lovers would be able to relish his dishes.

The dessert section wasn’t spared from being oriental either.

“‘Water chesnut with white fungus cream’ and ‘lotus bean paste pan cake’ are must try’s at the restaurant,” Chef Hugh says.
