CPI(M): probe Kinfra’s land deals

A Correspondent

KALPETTA: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) Wayanad district committee has demanded an investigation into land dealings of the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra) at Vellaramkunnu, near here.

The committee, on Saturday, demanded that the State government take over the land. Transactions on the land since 1964 were null and void, it said.

Other deals

The government acquired the land measuring 20 hectares in 2000 at a cost of Rs.2.54 crore for Kinfra.

The directives of the government on the report of a Revenue Vigilance inquiry were satisfactory, the committee said.

The government should inquire into similar cases in the district.

P.A. Muhammed, CPI(M) State committee member, presided over the meeting. E.P. Jayarajan, central committee member, and V.V. Dakshinamoorthy, State secretariat member spoke.
