Parkal JTO convicted

HYDERABAD: The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Hyderabad, on Monday convicted B. Vijay Kumar, Junior Telecom Officer, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, Parkal (Warangal district), in a case registered by CBI, Hyderabad.

According to a CBI press release, he was sentenced to four years rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs.1,000 each under Sections 7 and 13 read with 13(1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The public servant had accepted a bribe from the complainant for providing a village public telephone.

The release stated that public could contact the SP on 040-24732768, 94411-13555 of the CBI if they have any complaints on corruption in the Central Government departments and PSUs, banks, insurance companies of Telangana and Rayalaseema regions.
