Rice for Re.1 meant to woo voters: DMDK

PUDUKOTTAI: The State Government’s announcement to reduce the price of rice from Rs.2 to Re.1 a kg being supplied though the fair-price shops is an attempt to woo the voters for the upcoming elections, the State deputy general secretary of the Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam (DMDK) K.P. Krishnan, said.
Speaking after inaugurating the DMDK’s free computer training centre here on Sunday, Mr. Krishnan said that the decision to reduce the price of the rice had been made with an eye on the elections, to both Parliament and the Assembly.
