Houses gutted

NAGAPATTINAM: Several houses were destroyed in a fire that broke out at Ayakaranpulam near Vedaranyam in Nagapattinam district on Saturday. Fire service personnel from Vedaranyam put out the fire quickly.

Electric short circuit in one of the houses is said to have caused the fire. Property worth several lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the fire.
