Vijayashanti likely to join TRS

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Confirming his talks with film actress Vijayashanti here on Saturday, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said that the star of the tinsel world promised to convey her decision on joining his party in two or three days.

Mr. Rao replied in the positive when asked to clarify whether Vijayashanti’s entry into TRS meant merger of Thalli Telangana Party led by her with his party.

He told a press conference here on Sunday that the three-and-a-half hour talks between him and Vijayashanti took place in the background of an earlier statement by him that it was time all organisations struggling for separate Telangana come on a single platform. As a leading party in the movement, he had then offered to take the initiative in this direction.

Replying to another question whether he would initiate a similar dialogue with T. Devender Goud, president of Nava Telangana Praja Party, Mr. Rao said time was not far for such a development.
