Cleaner killed

VIRUDHUNAGAR: A lorry cleaner was killed and two others were injured in two different road accidents in the district on Friday.

The police said R. Murugan (18) of Irrukkangudi, cleaner of a stationary lorry, was killed when a tanker lorry hit it near Durga Devi temple on the Virudhunagar-Sattur highway near Sattur.

In another accident, S. Mookiah (48) and his niece, M. Nagarani (18) were injured when a car hit the moped on which they were riding. They were going to Virudhunagar from Chatrareddiyapatti.
