Southern Railway to run special trains

CHENNAI: To clear the extra rush of passengers, Southern Railway will run the following special trains.

Chennai Central – Trivandrum Special (Train No.0619) will leave Chennai Central at 8.30 p.m. on September 16 and arrive at Trivandrum at 1.00 p.m. on September 17. The train will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palghat, Trichur, Alwaye, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Chenganacherry, Truvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayankulam, Quilon and Varkala. The composition of the train will be 1 AC 2-tier, 1 AC 3 tier, 10 Sleeper class, 4 General second class and 2 Luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

Chennai Central – Guwahati Special (Train No.0656) will leave Chennai Central at 7.30 p.m. on September 13 and arrive at Guwahati at 8 p.m. on September 15. Tiruchchirappalli – Tirunelveli Special (Train No.0633) will leave Tiruchi at 5.00 a.m. on September 14 and arrive at Tirunelveli at 11.45 a.m. the same day. The train will stop at Dindigul, Madurai, Virudunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti and Vanchi Maniyachchi.

Tirunelveli – Chennai Egmore Special (Train No.0610) will leave Tirunelveli at 4 p.m. on September 14 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 6.30 a.m. the next day.

The train will stop at Vanchi Maniyachchi, Kovilpatti, Sattur, Virudunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tiruchi, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Mambalam. Chennai Egmore – Tiruchchirappalli Special (Train No.0629) will leave Chennai Egmore at 3.15 p.m. on September 15 and arrive at Tiruchi at 9.30 p.m. the same day.

The train will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Ariyalur and Srirangam. Tiruchchirappalli – Chennai Egmore Special (Train No.0630) will leave Tiruchi at 8.15 p.m. on September 14 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 3.15 a.m. on September 15. The train will stop at Srirangam, Ariyalur, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, Tindivanam, Melmaruvathur, Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Mambalam. Chennai Egmore – Madurai Special (Train No.0631) will leave Chennai Egmore at 11.45 p.m. on September 15 and arrive at Madurai at 9.15 a.m. the next day.

Advance reservation for the special trains commences on September 12, according to a press release
